The membership of this organization consists of all 4-H Club Leaders and any interested adult volunteers or parents. Leader’s Council serves as a group that is solely interested in the betterment of the program and youth involved in the program. Leader’s Council supports multiple activities or trips that involve youth and adults that are working together to build life skills in communication, cooperation, decision making, positive work ethic, spirit of fun and adventure, self esteem, leadership, self confidence, and project skills.
We make use of county, state, and other governmental resources to meet the needs of the youth of Rusk County. This includes financial support to youth that would otherwise not be able to attend 4-H events such as 4-H Camp or Leadership Training trips. We help to ensure a safe and positive environment where youth can grow and develop by supporting events through volunteering time to the program. We also act as a sounding board for the 4-H Program Educator and help to bring new ideas to the program.
We always like to see new faces at our meetings and appreciate the input of parents or community members whose sole interest is in the betterment of the program.
Committee Meetings are the 4th Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm in the Law Enforcement Center conference room.
